Who is Eligible?

You can join this program if you:

  • Live in North West Tasmania
  • Have an illness or injury that makes it harder to move around and do things on your own, such as getting dressed, showering, or going to the toilet without help.
  • Are aged 60 and older, or an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person aged 45 or older

Participants are required to have medical clearance from a GP prior to starting the program. Medical clearance form

  • Devonport - Xcel Fitness: Wednesday May 6th - June 10th
  • Central Coast (Ulverstone): Tuesday March 17th - April 21st
  • Circular Head - SWIRL Fitness:Monday March 30th - May 4th
  • Burnie - Burnie PCYC: Tuesday May 5th - June 9th
  • Wynyard - Senior Citizens Club: Thursday March 26th - April 30th

Program Features

The Falls Prevention Program runs over a period of 6 weeks and includes weekly exercise and education classes (90 minutes) and phone coaching sessions (up to 30 minutes) to keep you on track.
